Pontiac, Ill (25 News Now) - A Livingston County jury found a man guilty of Armed Robbery Thursday.
In January, Jarvis Postlewaite robbed the BP gas station on Howard Street in Pontiac, where he reportedly took cash and brandished a weapon.
Postlewaite was able to flee the scene, but law enforcement was later able to identify a suspect vehicle.
Once located, Postlewaite led police on a high-speed chase spanning across multiple jurisdictions and up to 100 mph at times.
The chase ended when Postlewaite’s car went airborne and crashed into a house in Kankakee County.
Postlewaite then led officers on a foot chase and was later caught with the gun and cash from the robbery.
Postlewaite was charged with Armed Robbery, Armed Habitual Criminal, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon.
He now faces mandatory life in prison without the possibility of parole.
