PEORIA (25 News Now) - Saturday is a city-wide street litter cleanup in Peoria.

The City Wide Cleanup, hosted by City of Peoria Community Development Department is the kick-off of Great Neighbor Appreciation Week.

Director for Community Development, Joe Dulin says everyone is welcome to Join in on the efforts to clean the city.

Dulin says he’s hoping people take this message, and go on a walk around their neighborhood, “they grab a bag with them, and just pickup some litter on the way. The more and more people in our community who can pick up trash, give back to the community just makes it a better place to live.”

The city wide litter cleanup is from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and cleanup supplies will be provided on arrival at the various starting locations.

Locations include:

  • Morton Square Park : 901 NE Monroe St.
  • McClure Library : 315 West McClure Ave
  • East Bluff Community Center: 512 East Kansas St.
  • City Parking lot: 714 West Main St.
  • MLK Jr. Park: 825 West McBean St.
