EAST PEORIA (25 News Now) - Fried fish, beans and pulled pork were all available to benefit those in need at Meadow Avenue Tap in East Peoria Sunday.

The Summertime Fish Fry was complete with live music, games, and face-painting for the kids. A meal ticket cost $15, with all proceeds going to St. Jude.

Event coordinator McKenna Krebs works with St. Jude often, and puts on this fundraiser to help kids and families battling cancer.

“I came out here to raise funds for the kids because I don’t like those families and those kids worrying about it,” she can come out here and volunteer, they cant.”

This was the first fish fry Krebs has been able to put on since 2019, before the pandemic started. That year, she raised $5,000 dollars for St. Jude. She’s hoping to double that this year and raise over ten thousand.
