McLEAN COUNTY (25 News Now) - Local and state elected leaders held their annual State of the State for McLean County Tuesday morning.
Over breakfast, they answered questions and gave their take on what they’re doing in Springfield for McLean County.
One topic 105th District Representative Dan Brady says still need work is what to do with COVID relief funds.
He’d like to see more put into higher education while emphasizing that small business is the backbone of the state.
“Let’s take those dollars, let’s not use them for pet projects from the other side of the aisle for Democrats,” he said. “Let’s use those dollars for businesses that are still struggling after this pandemic and see how we can continue to help them.”
Brady says if McLean County taxpayers aren’t happy with how they’ve been represented, the only way to achieve change is to get out and vote.
