Bloomington Gold Corvette show concludes today
BLOOMINGTON-NORMAL (25 NEWS) - Bloomington was sure to wrap up this weekend at Illinois State University with the Gold Corvette show.
Attendance included a crowd of 15,000 people. Attendees were able to sharpen their skills with learning how to be a Corvette enthusiast.
The show featured never-before-seen cars like the1963 Grand Sport lightweight race car, of which only five were ever made. Two other rare cars included the ZL169 and ZR two convertibles also the only ones of their kind.
The president of the Bloomington Gold Show, Guy Larsen, reminisced on the golden years of previous shows and shared past locations. He said he is proud to be back at Illinois State.
“We were here for many years from the 70′s, and into the 80′s and early 90′s,” Larsen said. “Originally on the old fairgrounds on the east side of town. Then over on the interstate center on the west, this is a beautiful facility we are glad to be here [Illinois State University].”
This event was sure to help the economy by bringing in a stream of funds for local businesses in the area, and getting the community out to meet and see vintage cars.
