White House offering cheaper internet to millions
PEORIA (WEEK) - The White House unveiled created the Affordable Connectivity Program to increase access internet and make it cheaper by up to $30.
The law could close the gap in access for millions of Americans. For years libraries helped keep internet access available for everyone. Local libraries said this program was needed.
“We do what we can here a the library. We’re open as much as we can, we have as many computers as we have but there’s just always going to be more need. The more that we can do to support people to be part of life and to engage that’s so important to do,” Sarah Couri from the McClure branch library said.
