PEORIA (WEEK) - The White House unveiled created the Affordable Connectivity Program to increase access internet and make it cheaper by up to $30.

To qualify you would have to meet income requirements, reach out to your provider or be on another government assistance program.

The law could close the gap in access for millions of Americans. For years libraries helped keep internet access available for everyone. Local libraries said this program was needed.

“We do what we can here a the library. We’re open as much as we can, we have as many computers as we have but there’s just always going to be more need. The more that we can do to support people to be part of life and to engage that’s so important to do,” Sarah Couri from the McClure branch library said.

Most major internet providers will work with you through this program.
