Gusty storms possible Wednesday
PEORIA (WEEK) - Another below average day is on tap, with mostly cloudy skies and highs in the low 70s. A few peeks of sunshine are possible, but the overall trend will be for clouds to thicken up ahead of incoming rain chances.
Scattered rain and thunderstorms are expected to arrive early Wednesday morning. Multiple rounds of rain and storms will be possible through Wednesday and Thursday. One period of particular focus will be Wednesday afternoon, when a few storms may become strong to severe. The Level 1 severe weather threat has been issued for the entire area, as a few isolated tornadoes and instances of damaging wind gusts are possible.
Up to an inch of rainfall is possible by the end of the day Thursday. Drier weather will arrive by Friday morning, with the dry trend expected to continue through Memorial Day weekend. Temperatures will surge into the upper 80s by the second half of the weekend!
