High School Saturday - IHSA Girls State Track, Regional Soccer

CENTRAL ILLINOIS (WEEK) - The areas top track and field athletes took to the blue track on Saturday for the IHSA State Track and Field Meet at Eastern Illinois.

In Class 3A, Normal Community’s Ali Ince wins state titles in the 800-meters and 400-meters. The Lady Iron 4x400 relay team, anchored by Ince, finished third in the race. Normal Community finished tied for sixth as a team.

In Class 2A, Normal U-High took second as a team in state. The Pioneers day was highlighted by Sydnee Scott who won the pole vault state title. The U-High 4x100 and 4x200 relays both took third. Also, Peoria Richwoods finished sixth as a team. The Knights’ 4x200 relay took second.

In Class 1A, Eureka’s Anna Perry wins the 3200 state title, Henry’s Nakeita Kessling took the state title in the 400-meter and second in the long jump, and Tremont’s Cambria Geyer wins the state title in the 300-meter hurdles, also taking second in the 100-meter hurdles.

In IHSA 2A soccer, Dunlap edges Peoria Richwoods to win the Dunlap Regional, and Washington blanks Morris to win the Washington Regional.

In IHSA 3A soccer, Normal Community wins the Pekin Regional.
