PEORIA (WEEK) - A Peoria man will spend the rest of his life behind bars for the murder of his own uncle almost four years ago.
Anthony Jackson, 31, was found guilty of first-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon for killing his uncle, Timothy Jackson.
The 43-year old man was found dead in a car on West Willcox Avenue early in the morning on June 7, 2018.
Authorities said at the time that the elder Jackson had been shot. Hours earlier, he had been stabbed during a fight.
The life-in-prison sentence was handed down Wednesday by Peoria County Judge John Vespa, the same judge who found the younger Jackson guilty following a bench trial in March.
