Five Manual students sign job offers from Caterpillar
PEORIA (WEEK) - Five manual high school seniors signed job offer letters to start their careers at Caterpillar on Wednesday. The teens were a part of the E4Life program.
A four-year hands-on experience that taught manufacturing along with mentoring, budgeting and personal finance.
Each student picked an area they enjoyed and would start at Caterpillar after they graduated in May. One senior said the experience showed her that Peoria had a lot to offer.
“It definitely shows that it doesn’t matter where you come from and it doesn’t matter what you go through. That there’s always opportunities and as long as you fight for it and you work hard for it you’ll definitely get to it. There’s nothing stopping you,” Senior Sarai Cardona-Sainz said.
Caterpillar said they wanted to continue to grow in Peoria. They planned a job fair for Tuesday May 17th at the KK facility in East Peoria.
