Easterseals host ‘Run, Walk & Rally’ race
EAST PEORIA (WEEK) - The East Peoria community kicked off the Easter festivies at The Levee District for the second annual Easterseals rally Saturday.
The ‘Run, Walk & Rally’ race is a week long event, where participants ran a family friendly 5K, one mile walk.
The event raises money for the kids of Easterseals, a nonprofit that provides all sorts of health and wellness services to those with disabilities.
‘Run, Walk & Rally’ Race Co-Chair Amy Braet said they hope to raise at least $30,000 that goes towards support families of Easterseals in Central Illinois.
“Just to see the kids crossing that finish line and to see the smiles on their face, it makes the whole event and everything that we do worth it,” Braet said.
Easterseals will conclude the week long event April 23 in Bloomington.
