UPDATE: Man accused of killing grandmother faces first-degree murder charge
UPDATE 4:39 P.M. - Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood has identified the woman as Glenda Rusterholz, 73, of South Kim Moor Road in Peoria.
She was pronounced deceased at the scene at 8:30 a.m.
An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
UPDATE 3:49 P.M. - A man is facing a preliminary charge of first-degree murder in the death of a woman in Limestone Township.
Peoria County Sheriff’s Office Captain Chris Watkins says Cody A. Krause was arrested in connection with the death of a 73-year-old woman - Krause’s grandmother.
Cause and manner of death will be released by the coroner.
Krause is scheduled to be in bonding court Friday.
Watkins says no one else is being sought and this is an isolated family incident.
PEORIA COUNTY (WEEK) - A Thursday morning homicide is being investigated by the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a call at around 7 a.m. in the 800 block of South Kim Moor Avenue regarding trouble with a man.
Deputies found a deceased woman upon arrival, according to Captain Chris Watkins.
The man on scene is being detained.
The incident is being investigated as a homicide.
Information regarding the victim, as well as the manner and cause of death, will be released by the Peoria County Coroner.
