Haddad’s Restaurant expands business by buying a food truck
PEORIA (25 NEWS) - Haddad’s Restaurant recently bought a food truck to take its menu on wheels. COVID-19 slowed things down for the family over the last two years, so they thought buying a food truck would help improve business. In January, the restaurant recently renovated its dining room at 1010 W Main St., but the owner realized they aren’t seeing as many people downtown anymore.
On Wednesday, Haddad’s Restaurant on Facebook revealed the latest addition to the business. Crowds are back, so Haddad’s wants to take the food to the people. Gabriel Haddad, Owner of Haddad’s Restaurant, said “Downtown used to be the happiest days of our lives, and now everything has kind of been on hold. So we thought we’d expand a little bit with our food truck.”
They are best known for their chicken or beef gyros, and will serve them along with pork chops, burgers, and falafel for vegetarians on their food truck. Gabriel said they are looking forward to attending more events and meeting more people this summer.
He added, “Try it out. Just come out and enjoy the day with us and the yum starts here!” They are open to catering and attending events! The Haddad’s food truck will head to the Illinois Cancer Center on April 21st and Peoria’s Forest Park Nature Center on April 23rd.
