Gertie the Groundhog predicts early Spring

PEORIA (25 News) - It is official! Gertie the Groundhog at Wildlife Prairie Park has predicted an early Spring.
This goes against her counterpart in Pennsylvania who predicted six more weeks of winter.
According to the video Wildlife Prairie Park posted on their Facebook, Gertie has a better track record in predicting when winter will end compared to Phil.
Central Illinois was hit with a very large and impactful Winter Storm on Groundhog Day, 11 years to the day it happened in 2011.
