PEORIA (25 NEWS) - If you need something to do Saturday, Ray Guth has a challenge for you! You may remember eight year old Ray from a story we did on him last year. He was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder (OMS) that requires chemo-therapy.

He spends almost every Friday afternoon at Aldi after treatments to hand out flowers to strangers. Ray and his family purchase the flowers, and hand them out as an act of kindness. Expecting nothing in return but a smile.

Katie Guth, Ray’s mom, said, “We want other people to experience the joy of giving and that’s what’s been the biggest impact for him. Is that he feels the joy when he gives out flowers or holds the door open for people or whatever. That’s what fills his bucket up.”

Ray cannot give flowers this weekend, because of a recent surgery he had to replace his mediport. He challenges you to go to Aldi on Saturday in Washington (or any local Aldi) to purchase flowers for just over four dollars and hand them to a stranger for him.

The Aldi employees even ordered extra flowers! Any money raised will go to his flower fund! They recommend you find a stranger in the store or parking lot to give the flowers to, just like Ray and his family does!

If you cannot attend the Aldi event, but you’d still like to support Ray, you can donate to his GoFundMe page here: https://gofund.me/1292b1f1.
