PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - When it comes to music there are just certain levels that are hard to match.

Which is the case for One Heart of Illinois music teacher, making sure his students are all in rhythm.

It’s safe to say music is the passion for one Mr. Niles Jones.

“I count it a privilege and an opportunity, to just pour in to students that are just searching for a place in the world and finding music as that place for them.” says Jones.

Jones is one of the music teachers at Harrison Community Learning Center.

Despite teaching all levels K-8, he enjoys letting his kids open their minds and creativity.

“A little bit chaotic, but again at the end of the day it’s a joy to have so many kids from different walks of life, that come in with different problems or circumstances and they can use music as an outlet.”

I think it’s safe to say Mr. Jones’ day was made in class.

“Number one it’s overwhelming, just because I didn’t know people did this, but I feel so privileged and so blessed to have people fighting for me and I don’t even know.”
