BARTONVILLE (25 NEWS) - A student at Limestone Community High School was arrested after Bartonville Police were made aware of a serious threat Thursday, December 9.

Bartonville Police said on Facebook that despite the perpetual rumors on social media, there is no concrete evidence, at this time, to believe that any residuals from the initial threat are valid.

The student was arrested the same day.

“As a precautionary measure and for reassurance purposes, some parents and students most likely noticed this morning an increase of Law Enforcement personnel,” the post said. “This is in addition to the School Resource Officer who is always present at the school.

Because the student is a juvenile, his name nor any other information will be released.

The State’s Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case for appropriate charges, according to police.
