Peoria Civic Center stages comeback with ‘A-List’ acts
PEORIA (25 News) - The Peoria Civic Center sat stagnant for over a year as the COVID-19 pandemic gripped the world. Now, they’re trying to make things as close to normal as possible.
General Manager Rik Edgar said COVID is here to stay “As far as we know,” and it’s their job to put practices in place to mitigate it, while making sure the show goes on.
The shows are going on. Announcing this week that rock band Judas Priest is kicking off their tour right here in Peoria. Some other shows taking the stage soon will be ‘The Bachelor Live on Stage’ and the popular ballet ‘Swan lake.’
“We’ve really got some A-list talent coming to Peoria and that’s getting us excited. We’ve already had a huge homerun with ‘Greta Van Fleet.’ That show sold out in 15 minutes. So that shows us the market is ready to return,” explained Edgar.
Edgar said there’s a little bit of everything coming to the civic center soon, including another major concert announcement tomorrow.
