ISU alum picked to lead Bloomington-based GROWMARK
PEORIA (25 NEWS) - The agricultural cooperative GROWMARK has chosen its next chief executive officer, who will take over early next year.
The Bloomington-based firm announced current Vice President Mark Orr will replace current CEO Jim Spradlin, who’s retiring at the end of February.
Orr is an Illinois State University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Agri-Business. He started his career at GROWMARK in 1990. Orr has held his current post as VP of Agronomy since 2014.
Orr will lead an organization with approximately 500 employees at its home office in Bloomington.
“Mark demonstrates a collaborative approach to leadership along with a passion for innovation and growth that benefits our member-owners, all of our customers, and their end users,” said GROWMARK’s Chairman of the Board John Reifsteck in a prepared statement.
Orr takes over for Spradlin, who has been GROMARK’s CEO for seven years.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to lead one of the greatest organizations in agriculture and look forward to building upon the strategies already driving the GROWMARK System to unprecedented growth in recent years,” said Orr in a news release.
