Driver involved in Tuesday night hit-and-run leaving child injured arrested

PEORIA (25 NEWS) - The driver and vehicle that left a child on a bicycle injured in a Tuesday night hit-and-run have been found.

A Peoria Police Department release says the driver, Karrie L. Brunswig, 43, of Peoria, was transported to the Peoria County Jail.

Police spokesperson Semone Roth said Brunswig was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident with injury/death, failure to give aid or information, failure to report an accident, revoked driver’s license, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, no insurance and expired registration plate.

The case will be forwarded to the Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office for review.
